Next up - Traditional Christmas! You can see this in action at 148 Joyal Way.
TRADITIONAL
- More is more
- Right for those that love all things Christmas, start decorating as soon as possible and keep it up until they absolutely have to take it down, find happiness in a Christmas stuffed home.
- Set your color scheme – at this level of Christmas, things can get away from you fast. Our show home was mostly whites and blues, with the occasional pop of red. Red is a staple for traditional Christmas so we set our color scheme to match – blue, white & touches of red.
- Similar to minimalistic style, decorate with intention. Smaller areas use less, larger areas – accessorize to your heart’s content. Ensure your décor is within your select color scheme as well as style to ensure a cohesive look and feel.
- Ensure you’re decorating safely. With more décor – the more plug ins are being utilized, the heavier your tree is, the more items for little hands to pull down etc. Ensure your décor isn’t a hazard within your home.
- TIP: While traditional is beautiful – try to incorporate something unique for a WOW factor: ie: Typically we incorporate ribbon into our trees. This year we used flocked garland from LOWES CANADA to wrap our tree horizontally, then used blue oversized feathers from CANADIAN TIRE for vertical movement, we then topped the tree with a wreath instead of a traditional star.
